So far, season four winners from “Dana White’s Contender Series” have been nearly 50-50 in the UFC. Jeff Molina is another representative from that season looking to come up successful in his UFC debut. Molina had a career performance on the “Contender Series,” beating the tough Jacob Silva last year. The product out of Glory MMA and Fitness has an 8-2 record and is on a seven-fight win streak. Molina is fighting the Chinese debutant in Aoriqileng in what should be a stellar fight.

Molina wasn’t someone I was too familiar with prior to the “Contender Series” call-up. After watching footage and seeing his performance against Silva I was sold. There are still questions on his takedown defense and grappling defense. Training with Glory MMA and under James Krause, he’s no doubt only going to get better. He already got an excellent kickboxing base, solid movement, and fights technically on the feet. Molina also has a good overall ground game. He’s only 23-years-old, so the sky is the limit for a guy that has raw potential.

As I say all the time, two of the things I put the most stock in with prospects is where they train and who they train with. Molina is definitely someone that trains with a lot of killers at the great gym in Glory MMA and Fitness in Kansas City. James Krause is a great coach, especially during fights, and really gets his fights to have an impose a game plan. Molina has had some decent competition, especially in his “Contender Series” fight with Jacob Silva. I like that he can finish fights in a variety of ways. Flyweight isn’t the deepest division, especially without ‘Triple C’ and with Cody Garbrant seemingly staying at 135 for now.
